Athens sightseeing day tour

Description

We start our day by visiting the Acropolis (Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheion, Parthenon), the Theatre of Dionysus and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus.

Next stop, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the greatest of ancient Greece and the Arch of Hadrian.

We continue with the Panathenaic Stadium, which hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. Leaving the Stadium behind, we ride to the highest point of the city, the Lycabettus Hill. We enjoy a stunning view, from the best spot in Athens and take panoramic photographs.

We will continue our private day tour and we will return to the city. We make two short stops to photograph the old Royal Palace (now the Presidential Mansion) and the Zappeion Hall.

At exactly the right time, we will arrive at the Parliament and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where we will watch the Changing of the Presidential Guard.

Continuing our private tour of the city center, we will stop and photograph the classical buildings of the Numismatic Museum, the Catholic Church, the Academy, the University, the National Library and the Old Parliament .

Time for a break and lunch! Your driver will lead you to a traditional Greek restaurant where you can taste and enjoy the Greek cuisine.

After lunch, we will return to the years of ancient Greece. You will visit the Ancient Agora the birthplace of democracy. Temple of Hephaestus, Stoa of Attalos . Then, the Roman Agora, and the Tower of the Winds.

We will complete our Athens private tour by visiting one of the two main museums, the National Archaeological Museum or the New Acropolis Museum.

Depending on your decision, we go back to where we started, or your driver will take you to the old city (Plaka) to stroll through the picturesque streets
