Amazing private tour which combines the best attractions of Athens including the Acropolis, the Corinth canal and the Ancient Corinth where Apostle Paul taught and lived for 18 months
The tour starts from the visit to the Acropolis and its monuments, (Propylaea, Parthenon, Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheion, Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Areopagus, Theater of Dionysus). We continue with a visit to the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Arch of Hadrian.
We move to modern history and go to the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games were held, in 1896. Driving to the highest point of Athens, we stop at the Lycabettus Hill, from where the view of the whole city is magnificent. Heading back to the city, we make small stops for photographs of the old Royal Palace and the Zappeion Hall.
We will continue our Athens and Corinth tour, and we will arrive at the Parliament and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier where we will watch the Changing of the Presidential Guard.
Then, driving through the city, we will stop to photograph beautiful buildings such as the Academy, the University, the National Library, the Old Parliament, the Numismatic Museum and the Catholic Church.
After finishing our Athenian tour and having enjoyed a wonderful meal, we start towards Corinth. Driving on the Athens - Corinth National Road, and after 80 kilometers, we make our first stop at the Corinth Canal. The Corinth Canal connects the Saronic with the Corinthian Gulf.
A few kilometers away, we find the Ancient city of Corinth, one of the richest of Ancient Greece and the city where the Apostle Paul preached.
At the archaeological site, you will see the Temple of Apollo, the Pirene and Glafki fountains, the Ancient Agora and the location called “Vima” (Step) where the Apostle Paul was led to be tried by the Roman Proconsul Gallio, who refused to prosecute him. You will also see the Roman Odeon and the Ancient Theatre. The museum is situated in the same location.
We will continue our Athens and Corinth tour, and we will drive to the Acrocorinth rock, where the fortress by the same name stands at an altitude of 575 meters above the ancient city. There, we will make a brief stop and take pictures.
Before leaving the Corinth region, we will make a short stop to admire and photograph the mosaic on the life and visions of Apostle Paul, which is located in the churchyard of St. Paul church.
Then, we take the road back to Athens.
