Nemea wine roads Day tour
Our Wine Tour will visit the region of Nemea in the Peloponnese, which is Greece’s largest wine-growing zone. The area produces some of the most famous Greek wines with designation of origin.
Description
Pick-up will take place at your hotel in Athens. We will then drive on the National Road to Corinth, overlooking the Saronic Gulf on our left hand.
We will make our first stop at the Corinth Canal, in order to admire and photograph the canal which connects the Saronic with the Corinthian Gulf.
As we continue our wine tour, and approaching the Nemea region, we will notice that there are large vineyards around us.
The city of Nemea has existed since antiquity.
You will visit the archaeological site where there is a temple of Zeus, public buildings and baths as well as a small museum. We will also visit the Stadium, where the Nemean Games (one of the four Panhellenic Games of Ancient Greece) were held every 2 years.
We will then visit two wineries in the area.
You will be guided by expert winemakers you will learn how the local wines are made and you will be able to taste them.
You can also purchase the wines you like best.
After visiting the local wineries, you will have lunch at a local restaurant. After your meal your driver will take you back to Athens, right at your starting point.
